Dr Abdulrazaq Garba is currently the Director General Nigerian Geological Survey Agency. With a career spanning more than 25 years in mineral assessment and exploration, he has made significant contributions to efforts leading to a number of discoveries, some of which have either become mining projects or are still at the developmental stage. He has been actively involved in processes that have evolved into key publications and projects, such as the National Integrated Mineral Exploration Project (NIMEP), Geological Map of Nigeria, National Geochemical Mapping Technical Assistance Project, exploration/evaluation projects in gold, magnesite, marble, lead-gold-silver, etc. He is also a Co-Leader of the PanAfGeo for Mineral Resources Assessment, a training program for African Geological Surveys sponsored by the European Geological Surveys. Dr. Garba A.A. is a member of several societies and also a Fellow of the Geological Society of London and the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society.
